* this is a 96 kHz recording

This 2nd recording by Spanish virtuoso psaltery player Olavide, again reveals her adoration for the Arabic roots of her country's traditional and renaissance music. "Mudejar" refers to moslems that remained in Spain during the Reconquest by the Christians that began in 1492, but did not convert to Christianity. Begoña both sings and directs her fellow musicians which include Ramiro Amusategui on 'ud and saz, vihuela players Daniel Carranza and Felipe Sánchez, percussionist Pedro Estevan (who plays with Jordi Saval), and Begoña's instrument maker husband Carlos Paniagua on psaltery & percussion. Recorded in Spain in the beautiful cathedral of La Monasterio de la Santa Espina.
