As referenced by Audiophiliac Steve Guttenberg and Stereophile writer extraordinaire Herb Reichart!
Bulgarian pianist Milcho's 3rd album on
the MA Recordings label. Recorded during the same 1989 sessions as "Bulgarian Piano Blues" (M012A), in the Harmony Hall in Matsumoto, Japan, this album was recorded in ONE SITTING and is mostly improvised, revealing just how far Milcho can go GO GO! Here, he swings freely, powerfully and incessantly (not necessarily in that order) with his Balkan influenced, bluesy improvisations. Of special interest are the Bulgarian folk tune, "Sadovsko Oro," Milcho's "C Blues Suite" and the finale, "Dies Irae," dedicated to Igor Stravinsky. The sound of the Bosendorfer Imperial Concert Grand Piano is extremely dynamic; an audiophile dream!

"The most vivid, direct and instructive of all piano recordings that I know of is "Man From Plovdiv" recorded by Todd Garfinkle
