This is a wonderful recording in so many ways. If you enjoy Baroque music, or if you just enjoy the Lute, you really need this CD.
The music is amazing and it's no wonder the composer Robert de Visee was named "Guitar Master of the King" in 1719 as part of King Louis XIV's court. Eduardo Eguez is his usual expressive fantastic self with the timbre and tones of his instrument captured in the best way possible. The recording has the best of what digital can do, without sounding dry or analytical at all. It has body, air, resolution, tonality and a wonderful intimacy.
Eduardo Eguez' playing is expressive and subtle, drawing you in to the performance and making this a recording that you are compelled to actively listen which makes it all the more enjoyable.
