"I am Willing"
An Original DSD 5.6 mHz MA Recording, June, 2010, Hong Adventist College Church
This 3rd album by Chinese GuZheng player and singer Ling Ling: ?I am Willing? is the most ambitious and of course, best yet. The sound of her voice is sweeter, more fluid and relaxed. Besides the usual appearances of her students accompanying her, there are cameo performances by star members of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, including Guo Yazhi on Dizi (Chinese bamboo flute) and He Tao on Er-hu (Chinese violin). As with her first two recordings ?Small Town Story,? and ?Forever Wishing? this 3rd album features well known Chinese pop and movie themes performed on traditional Chinese instruments, as well as selections from the traditional repertoire.
The project was produced in the summer of 2010, over the course of four days, in the church at the Hong Kong Adventist College. The album was recorded on MA's then recently acquired (and modified) Korg MR-2000S DSD master recorder at the ultra high sampling rate of 5.6 MHz. The usual ?two of a kind? pair of MA custom, DC powered mikes with 16mm DPA omnidirectional capsules was used, along with a 3 meter pair of Crystal Cable Dreamline XLR cables. High Resolution mastering was done at 176.4 kilohertz with Samplitude Master software.
